Thanks greatly appreciate your promptness. You help me a lot. I'm using $10 call card just to call BDO in Philippines. I did try calling 1800 number but I can't get through, for a reason I was off two digit, the O1. Geez come to think of it I wasted a lot of call card just to call BDO.

I'm wondering if somehow you also know, BPI Family Bank, AT&T toll free number. As far as I know, they only have Sprint & MCI toll free number. Deeply appreciate your reply. Thanks once again. God bless

@truhazel: If you haven't been using your card, I believe you can call up BDO and ask them to reverse the charges since you haven't been using it and that you have no access to your billing statement. But the reversal of charges is up to the discretion of the bank and there's no guarantee they would do it. Though I have successfully done this before. The toll free number in your area would likely be 011-800-8-6318000.

While you're on the phone with BDO you can ask them about their internet banking facility. https://www.mybdo.com.ph/rib/faq/faq.html

BDO Internet banking will allow you to pay your BDO credit card online but you'll have to have a BDO savings account. Then for future bills, you can just remit to your savings account and pay online.

You might also want to check out this site: http://www.bdo.com.ph/Personal_Banking/Remittance/money_transfer.htm

Hope this helps :)

I'm in california and I'm not using my credit card anymore. I was billed back home in Las Pinas. I was surprised that I was given 300 pesos as a penalty that accured to 800 plus. I'm just wondering if I could get a softcopy of my Statement of Account or does BDO Credit Card do e-mail billing notices? Apparently someone back home doesnt care about my bills. My scenario is I have to send money tru Western Union for relative to pay. Is there any money transfer directly pays to BDO Credit Card here in California? preferably near Rosamond area. Western Union I think only accept bank deposit not payment for BDO credit card. Can someone help me? thanks

Hi Gleceria,

If your credit card was issued in Manila and you want to use it abroad, your expenses will be subject to the foreign currency exchange rate as set by your credit card's issuer.

The rate is usually higher than the rate you get from Money changers. So make sure you pad your estimate a bit so you don't get surprised when you get your bill back home.

What happens usually is, if you charge P40k on your card, then you will need to pay P40k plus whatever previous oustanding balance you have on your card to avoid incurring charges. Other wise, you will incur a monthly interest charge of about 3.5%.

The minimum you have to pay would be about 5% of your outstanding charges. So if your outstanding charge is P40k, then the minimum monthly would be about P2k.

But be careful when paying only the minimum. There's a catch to it. You may want to read <a href="http://eofw.net/stats-and-facts/a-step-to-financial-freedom-get-out-of-the-credit-card-trap/" rel="nofollow">this</a> article.

If you cannot pay your outstanding charges in one go, you can call up your bank and ask if you can make staggered payments at lower interests much like BPI's SIP plan, or Citibank's Paylite.

In summary, the answer to your question would be: depends on how soon you can pay your credit card off.

I hope this helps! :)
